Rebelling Against Normality
It’s an idea that popped into my head during the long, wet and windy winter we had in Jersey! I created these journals so I had somewhere to record our journey as a log and a diary as it wasn’t available anywhere else. Find out more.
We spent two weeks here in August 2017 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. There is plenty to do and it’s very reasonably priced (especially if you belong to certain clubs and so get 20% discount…!)
We sailed (slowly!) from Honfleur to Barfleur and spent a night in the anchorage here. It is a picturesque little town that I wish we’d had more time to explore.
Honfleur was an absolutely stunning little French town that we both thoroughly enjoyed exploring. We had a very entertaining evening with some new friends that ended up with a group of drunken sailors on a Carousel. Read on to find out more!
We reached Le Havre after a long 28 hour sail direct from Dunkirk. It was lovely to get off to go for a walk and explore the city. There is a town very close by that you MUST go and visit – read on to find out which one!
This was our first port in France! Dunkirk is a good stop off if you are sailing down from The Netherlands. I had lots of fun with the showers here. Read on for an LOL story…!
Cadzand-Bad was our last stop in The Netherlands. We spent 5 nights here whilst we waited for a weather window. It’s a nice modern marina but we had to be a bit sneaky during our stay…!
A quick stop in Roompot Marina was just what we needed before we continued our journey South.
Neeltje Jans was an interesting stop on our way South. We were surrounded by something edible that could be easily foraged here.
