Some extra points
- This was just quick stop off for us en route South after we had anchored off Neeltje Jans. We stayed for a couple of nights to take advantage of the facilities here.
- There was a small supermarket on site (a bit of a walk mind as it was a large holiday park. The Marina was just one small part of it.)
- This place is catered towards families as there were lots of family friendly activities going on and some larger than life characters walking around that would appeal to younger children.
- By the supermarket were some fast food facilities. We had drinks and bitterballen (delicious!) from one and fries from another!
- You can buy fresh croissants and bread rolls from the marina office if my memory serves me correctly to save a long walk to the supermarket.
- The marina water was the some of the cleanest I have ever seen. There were children swimming in it (right by the boats!) which is testament to that. We had to be careful we didn’t run into any on our way to our berth! There was also lots of children crabbing along the pontoon wall by the main walkway.
- Fuel available here but it is a pain in the backside to get to as the fuel pump is up high and so the pump has to be lowered down to you by a staff member.
- There is a beach here but we didn’t use it as there were no dogs allowed on it.
- The showers here were lovely and hot – so we made the most of them!!
- Overall, this was a very useful stop to restock ourselves but we were keen to move on as it was incredibly touristy which is really not our cup of tea! We much prefer peace and quiet.
- This would be a good stop before heading back across the North Sea to the UK. Our friends that we sailed over with did exactly that after they emerged from the mast up route near here.
