Some extra points
- This was our first stop in France! Apart from the fog going past Belgium, we had a good journey over with some lovely weather.
- Check in was easy and they LOVED Scrappy in the office. He got lots of fuss (which he absolutely loved!).
- You can order croissants and french bread in the office to be delivered the following morning freshly baked. It’s a little bit more expensive than going directly to the boulangerie but the closest one we could find was a 15-20 minute walk away so we didn’t mind!
- Town is a 20 minute walk away and the beaches are 20 minutes or so in the opposite direction! We went to have a look at them but unfortunately you can’t take dogs on them. Though it was nice to go back to the same spot we went to a few years ago when we came over on Dave’s motorbike! (I’ve included a few pictures below!)
- Showers are €1 and you have to buy tokens from the office to use them. They are in a separate building. Make sure you buy more than you think you’ll need. They are on a timer and €1 will only last about 10 minutes or so. If you are a girl with long hair…this will not be enough. Don’t do what I did which was be stingy and say one token will be enough. The water will go off half way through (probably when you are covered in soap) and you will be stuck. I had to go out (covered in soap) and and try (using my bestest French) to ask another lady to go and buy another token for me whilst holding out a €1 coin towards her! The embarassment. XD
- The clothes washing facilities are very reasonably priced here: €2 for a wash and €1 to dry.
- There are a couple of chandleries very close by. When you come out of the marina gate, you are in an industrial estate. Turn left to head into town or right to get to the chandleries and other boaty type showrooms.
- There’s a large tidal range here compared to The Netherlands! The ramps leading onto the pontoons can get very steep at low tide!
- If you stay for a week you get the 7th night free here. It was sod’s law that we got our weather window to leave after our 6th night so we didn’t get our free night stay! Typical!
